INTERNATIONAL REMOTE WORKER DIGITAL NOMAD

The digital nomad permit (officially, residence authorization for international teleworkers) allows professionals from outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland to live in Spain while working remotely for foreign companies/clients. This status was established by Law 14/2013 (Entrepreneurs), amended by Law 28/2022 (Startups), and is further defined in the new Immigration Regulations (Royal Decree 1155/2024, in force since May 20, 2025).
It offers two routes: consular visa (1 year) or direct residence from Spain (3 years), with streamlined processing at the UGE.
